This ancient variety is the parent of the other well-known red Cabernet in a cross with the white grape Sauvignon Blanc. This varietal is famous in the Old World for its deeply herbaceous wines, yet in the microclimate of the Yakima Valley the growing conditions push the dark-berry flavors to the top of the profile where black cherries rule over glimmers of greener aromas. Grapes sourced from Catherine’s Block in Dineen Vineyard.
