2016 :Nota Bene Mourvèdre – Heart of the Hill Vineyard
Red Mountain...........................................................................$30

The sense of place when making wine in small lots is very important in understanding this wine. The grapes were sourced from Heart of the Hill Vineyard on Red Mountain, a fairly new project for owner/grower Scott Williams. We thank him for the wisdom of his toil and see the results in our Mourvèdre that benefits from warm days on Red Mountain. It’s lush with fruit and spice followed by savory notes typical of this varietal, often supported with a dash of pepper. We hope you love it!

| Bottled 8/4/18 | 50 cases produced |
| Alcohol: 14.95% | pH 3.65, TA 5.45 g/L |

100% Mourvèdre (Heart of the Hill Vineyard)

Barrels: This wine was aged 22 months in Export-style seasoned French oak barrels by Taransaud and Ton. Vernou with French oak infusion by Xtrachêne.

Starting with a deep ruby core and medium magenta rim, the 2016 Mourvèdre Heart of the Hill displays enticing and succulent dark red fruit tones of spiced black cherry, red and black peppercorn, dusty dried herbs and elements of cinnamon-spiced licorice. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is initially subdued before revealing complex layers of dusty potpourri, redcurrants and black plum. Concluding with a long, lingering finish, the persistent, dark red-fruited expression subsides to reveal elevated alcohol across the aftertaste. Only 600 bottles were made. Anthony Mueller

The 2017 Mourvèdre Heart Of The Hill is dusty and floral with black raspberry and cocoa aromas. It washes easily across the palate, softly textured and lifted with ripe cherry-berry fruits. This finishes nuanced with medium-length, inner florals and hints of spice.
