2008 Miscela : Washington State
2008 Miscela : Washington State
True to the spirit of this wine…Miscela is Italian for “blend”…we see how grapes from many different vineyards can come together to make a satisfying Bordeaux style blend. A counterpoint to our Abbinare blend we’ve returned to a Merlot heavy blend with the majority component sourced from Ciel du Cheval Vineyard on Red Mountain. We followed this with a generous helping of Cabernet from Champoux Vineyard and a nice contribution of two wines from Dineen Vineyard. This wine is a touch of the exotic, lots of fun to drink. We call it Washington State in a glass… Bottled on 6/26/10; 150 cases were produced; pH 3.64, TA 5.85 g/L
47% Merlot (Ciel du Cheval Vineyard)
38% Cabernet Sauvignon
(32% Champoux Vineyard, 6% Dineen Vineyard)
10% Cabernet Franc (Dineen Vineyard)
5% Malbec (Verhey Vineyard)
Barrels: This wine was aged for 22 months in 33% new French oak from Ton. de Jarnac and the balance seasoned French oak from Alain Fouquet and Vicard, and Hungarian oak from Kovacs.
