Our offer for the month of May is one each of these three MCM Wine Company wines.

Here's what they are...

2016 MCM  Terrifica Grenache - Wahluke Slope ($25)

This is our first release of Grenache for MCM Wine Company due to the extremely bountiful 2016 vintage. Vineyard owner Tedd Wildman was able to raise several extra barrels from our rows at StoneTree. We have long felt the urge to bottle Grenache on its own but have always used this fruit in our :Nota Bene Una Notte blend. It’s showing soft and varietally intense with red fruits like strawberry and raspberry interwoven with spicy notes. We are so glad to be working with this fruit as these vines continue to mature and produce great wines.

  • Bottled 8/4/18
  • 50 cases produced
  • Alcohol 14.9%

100% Grenache (StoneTree Vineyard)

Barrels: This wine was aged 22 months in Export-style barrels of seasoned American oak from A&K and seasoned French oak from Artisan Barrel Selections.

2015 MCM Spectaculuxe Syrah - Columbia Valley ($25)

We crafted this Syrah blend around the magnificent fruit from four distinguished vineyards: Ranch at the End of the Road near on Red Mountain near Benton City and Arianses Vineyard and Stone Tree Vineyard on the Wahluke Slope near Mattawa. Distinct locations with climates all their own and two different clones contribute to a complex flavor profile of dark fruits, spices, savory edges, and a hint of floral notes from a significant helping of Viognier from Marsala Vineyard near Zillah.

  • Bottled 7/29/17
  • 120 cases produced
  • Alcohol 14.1%

94% Syrah (43% Ranch at the End of the Road Vineyard, 40%           Arianses Vineyard, 11% Stone Tree Vineyard)
6% Viognier (Marcela Vineyard)

Barrels: This wine was aged 22 months Export-style barrels, 17% new American oak from Canton Cooperage, the balance in seasoned French oak from Ton. Vernou, and seasoned American oak from A&K.

Review of Washington Wines - March 2020
Purplish ruby colored, this Syrah (co-fermented with 6% Viognier) possesses a rich nose of raspberries, blueberries, black currants, black roses, brambles, lavender and spiced incense. The medium bodied flavors are comprised of thick black and blue fruits that are intermixed with licorice, chocolate, roasted coffee beans and earth. The chewy textured back reveals macerated berries, roasted nuts and charcoal, followed by a spiced (nutmeg, clove) moderate tannin and acid finish. 18+/20 points. (

2015 MCM Majestica Red Blend – Columbia Valley ($25)

The decision to blend is always designed to maximize the effects of the components. Luckily this vintage gave us six interesting wines from four outstanding vineyards. We knew they would marry over time to form this deep rich wine with herbs and spices reflecting their varietal history and site. Dark berries and cherries overlaid with a dash of the French countryside on a dew drop morning with soft tannins creating an enjoyable lingering finish.

  • Bottled 7/29/17
  • 125 cases produced
  • Alcohol 14.24%

57% Cabernet Sauvignon (40% Stone Tree Vineyard, 10% Heart of the Hill Vineyard, 7% Dineen Vineyard)
17% Petit Verdot (Stone Tree Vineyard)
14% Merlot (Ciel du Cheval Vineyard)
12% Cabernet Franc (Dineen Vineyard)

Barrels: This wine was aged 22 months Export-style barrels, 14% new French oak from Ton. Vernou, the balance in seasoned French oak from Ton. Orion and Ton. Vernou, and seasoned American oak from Canton, Saury, and Alain Fouquet.

Review of Washington Wines - March 2020
This blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Petit Verdot, 14% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc offers a deep ruby color and rich aromas of raspberry, cherry, plum, black roses, mulberry, sweet tobacco, olive and purple lilac. The flavors are ample, yet focused, with notes of licorice, cola, black tea and loam. The back picks up pressed berries, roasted nuts, kirsch and framboise liqueurs and No. 2 pencil lead, followed by a ripe moderate tannin finish that is lifted by bright fruit acids. 18.5/20 points($25)  — Rand Sealey
