The fruit from Conner Lee Vineyard has been so special the last few years that we have decided to show this wine on its own. This is the second 100% Merlot bottling from :Nota Bene and a tribute to Conner Lee’s success. • pH 3.63, TA 6.73 g/L

Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Fall 2011
This wine is made from Bordeaux grapes. The 2008 Merlot Conner Lee Vineyard (100%) spent 22 months in seasoned French oak. Cinnamon, clove, earthy minerals, cassis, and black currants inform the nose of a complex, layered, concentrated wine. It conceals enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years and will provide prime drinking through 2020. — Dr. Jay Miller  (Dear Doctor Miller, 2022 has it still showing wonderfully, Winemaker Tim)

2008 :Nota Bene  Conner Lee Vineyard – Columbia  Valley    $65
91 Points Wine Advocate

We are very happy to be sourcing such wonderful fruit from this classic Washington State vineyard. Contributing to some of the state’s finest Bordeaux blends for many years, we are showing this vineyard on its own so you can experience the terroir. Located on Radar Hill near Othello, its cool location and significant elevation produce big dark berry flavors wrapped in a host of subtle contributing tastes like chocolate and coffee, rich and deep…they linger enjoyably.

  • Bottled on 6/26/10
  • 75 cases were produced
  • pH 3.70, TA 5.81 g/L

67% Cabernet Sauvignon (Conner Lee Vineyard)
33% Merlot (Conner Lee Vineyard)

Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Fall 2011
This wine is made from Bordeaux grapes. The 2008 Conner Lee Vineyard is composed of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot aged for 22 months in 33% new French oak. Wood smoke, exotic spices, incense, damp earth, and assorted black fruits lead to a firm, slightly austere wine that will continue to blossom for several more years. Its drinking window extends from 2013 to 2023. — Dr. Jay Miller

Wine Enthusiast Magazine, June 2013
Only in Washington can you find pure varietal, single-vineyard Merlot at this price that shows such power and depth. Aged in American oak barrels with French oak stave inserts, it displays plenty of smoky caramel and coconut flavors, but the fruit is there in good proportion. This wine is sure to find plenty of admirers; if only more than just 58 cases had been produced. -- P.G. (6/1/2013) — Paul Gregutt

Price $35 Aged for 22 months in 20% new French oak, this blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot completes a trio of excellent Conner Lee-designates from :Nota Bene in 2009. It‚Äôs full bodied and streaked with herb, thistle, fresh greens, tart berries, and cocoa nibs. Pair it with a nice, juicy steak! P.G. (6/1/2013) — Paul Gregutt
