In this wine we are exploring the dominance of Viognier in a blend from MCM Wine Company that pushes the envelope of white wine making. It is composed of two Rhône whites, Viognier and Roussanne, sourced from Dineen Vineyard in Zillah, Washington, that were destemmed and crushed and rested with 5 days of skin contact. After pressing, fermentation was allowed to occur naturally in seasoned French oak barrels. It was kept on the lees with regular early stirring. ML is complete and adds depth and complexity to this rich fragrant wine. Melon and tropical fruits round out the flavor profile and contribute to an attractive floral bouquet.

  • Bottled 8/7/20

88% Viognier (Dineen Vineyard)
12% Rousanne (Dineen Vineyard)

Barrels:  This wine was aged for 10 months in seasoned French oak from Tonnellerie Doreau and Nadalie.

One sip and apricot jumps out of the glass, followed by peach, white flowers, cardamom and fresh herbs. Some of the intrigue may be in part due to the 12% Roussanne winemaker Tim Narby added to tone down the floral, fruity characteristics. Compared to most Viogniers, this release is much lighter on its feet and is more delicate than most. A delicious summer wine a slight minerality, great for many seafood dishes or alone. 90 Points in the $15-$25 Category - The Wine Panel
